How Much Does It Cost To Lease A Used Dump Truck?

cost-lease-used-dumptruck

If you're looking for a used dump truck for your business, you may be able to find dump truck prices online, but it's hard to find real information about what your actual payments will be.

Sure, there are equipment leasing calculators on a lot of equipment leasing broker websites, but most only show you the lowest rates, which are usually wildly different than what you will really pay.

So let's start with what dump trucks actually cost, and then we'll delve into what the payments might be.

How Much Does a Used Dump Truck Cost?

A usable dump truck (usable enough that you could get someone in their right mind to finance it) will usually cost at least $15,000. In that lower range, you're usually looking at a dump truck that's at least 20 years old. The higher range is around $100,000 for a newer (less than 5 years old) model.

What you actually pay as a payment will depend on a number of factors, including how long you are financing for, your personal credit, how long you've been in business, and how much you are actually paying for the truck.

Free Bonus Section: The first question we get asked about financing a dump truck is usually how much you need to put down. We've put together a free guide to dump truck down paymentsClick here to get access.

Dump Truck Leasing Payments

Here are approximate lease payments per $25,000 financed (so if your truck is $100,000, multiply the number I give you by 4, for a $12,500 dump truck, cut the payment in half) assuming you've been in business for at least 2 years:

With a credit score under 620, programs vary, and can depend greatly on if you provide collateral. Using the 60-month example, payments per $25,000 could range from $900 per $25,000 to $1,200 but it really depends on your situation.

The numbers above are approximations, but are enough to give you a general idea what you can expect to see as a payment (whether you use us or anybody else).

How are Dump Truck Financing Rates Affected for a New Business?

If you have less than 2 years in business, your payments will be higher, closer to the $650-$700 range per $25,000 financed on a 5-year term if you have decent credit, and up to $1,100 for really bad credit. If that sounds high, it is high, but it's what you'll have to pay. That's because the risk of a company failing is highest in the first 2 years of business.

We're committed to helping you have ALL the information you need to make a smart business decision (not just the stuff that will help us sell you something) so if you have any questions at all, we'd love to answer them for you.
